The Peak Condition Fitness Challenge
This challenge is designed to motivate and educate individuals about the benefits of physical fitness, proper nutrition and team work, giving them an incentive to exercise, eat well and work towards specific goals.
Here’s how it will work:
We start with a talk on exercise & nutrition entitled – The Truth about Exercise and Diet- Top 5 reasons you aren’t losing weight and wasting your time in the gym.
The program will consist of the following:
- A group nutrition talk at the beginning of the program to run through all the details of the nutrition plan.
- Bi weekly one to one coaching and assessment sessions for each participant to monitor progress.
- Two weekly group exercise sessions to be done as a group.
- Home/ gym program to be done on the days the participants are not training in the group.
- Daily email support, access to a Fit For Life Coach for questions and support throughout the 8 week program.
- A group talk at the end of the program to include how to maintain and incorporate the principles of the program long term.
- Cost of the program is €250 per person + vat.
Health promotion is an investment, not an expense. * Research shows every Euro invested in health promotion leads to returns on investment between €2.5 and €4.8 due to reduced absenteeism costs alone.

Case Study – Vodafone Ireland
This program was recently run From September to November 2011 at Vodafone Ireland. We took 11 participants and the total weight loss over the 8 weeks between the participants was 13.7 stone.
At the beginning of the challenge we wanted to assess the health and energy levels of the recruits, so we started with a ‘How healthy and energetic do you feel’ questionnaire. This asked a series of questions on their health, energy and blood sugar control. They were asked to rate each question on a scale of 1 to 5, the closer to 5 that they scored meant that they were more likely to suffer from that particular symptom. If they scored low, than that symptom wasn’t really an issue. Basically the lower the score the better their health and energy.
For the health part of the questionnaire an ideal score is 14 or less, for the energy and blood sugar control 16 or less. There are 11 questions in each part and due to people being away we only have 8 of the 11 that filled in the questionnaire twice so I am working on the average of 8 people. The total health score for the group at the beginning of the program came to 263, which is an average of 32.9. The total energy and blood sugar score added up to 288, and average of 36.
We had the recruits retake the test on the last day and the health scores plummeted to 150, that’s an average of 18.75. The energy and blood sugar scores dropped even more to 143 averaging 17.9. That’s a fantastic improvement in health and energy levels in just 8 weeks! Concentration and ability to work without becoming fatigued were only some of the side effects of the program.
The results were so significant most of the participants had no problem doing a video testimonial for us. I have 5 of the 11 participants recorded; the others have agreed to do a short video as well however I still have to meet up with them to record their stories.
